As long as the lettering is the standard size and the plate is illuminated.

Looking for trouble with it in the window. The police will accept it of it was ripped off and you put it there. The thing is its probably not visable from the required distance in your window and th police ANPR might not be able to see it.

As far a positioning your plate it needs to be on the front of your visable from the required diatance and i beleive it needs to be in the center.

Pretty much anyware on the bumper/grill facing forward should be good. But an MOT tester should be able to tell ya i think.

Hope that helps Smile

As long as it's a legal plate visable from the front (not sure what you mean about the 'required distance') there's no rule to where you must mount it, look at the police evo's, they're mounted on the side of the bumper. EVO'S

I went a week with no front plate after it got nicked, drove thru a ANPR check and a random VOSA spot check and I didn't get stopped. Front plates aren't really as important compared to the rear.

I think they're both as important, you just got lucky.

Another example of s tandard car with numberplate to one side. Alot of Aflas have there's to the side because of the design.

I highly doubt for a second they didn't stop you because "at least you had a rear plate". But you do have a point, rear is probably more important for obvious reasons.
