#1: Radio/Aux In help! Author: Toms206, Location: UK PostPosted: Sat Oct 16, 2010 2:48 pm

Hi Guys,

I have a 2004 (54 plate) 1.1 petrol Zest and could do with some help!

I am fed up with the the lack of Aux in support and my iTrip is annoying me with the interference I get around where I live. I want to have a aux in where I can plug in my phone/iPod into and from what Halfords have said, I need a new radio as my clarion standard radio is not re-programmable! If I did need to get a new radio, are they easy to fit? I have read about how to remove the old radio out but is it just a case of unplug the old one and plug in the new one? Also, will it automatically work with the audio lever thing behind my steering wheel if I change it?

Halfords quoted me about £120 to change the whole thing and make it work with the audio lever, shall I bite the bullet and pay for that or do you reckon its worth me trying to do it myself?

Thanks so much!

mikey, thank you very much! The only thing is if my car can only take 1 CD at a time... would this still work? And have you got any idea how easy it is to install? I just want a 3.5mm audio in jack somehow attached, so I can listen to my MP3 player etc and as Halfords quoted £120 I thought there must be a cheaper way of doing it!

Sorry for sounding so clueless, but I don't really know much about this kind of stuff!

This goes in to the back of the radio where the CD changer would go. Very simple fit mate and will do the job.
