#1: The Peugeot Sport Official Owners Club. Author: Brian, Location: VVT Land, Fife PostPosted: Wed Oct 20, 2010 6:10 pm
    ----

Hello All!

Some of you may or may not know that I am heavily involved with the Peugeot Sport Official Owners Club. I've recently taken over the role of Editor of the club's magazine - "Torque".

This isn't a message to say i'm going anywhere, I'm just posting up on what you could be missing out on by not being a member of a club steeped in history over the past 25 years, 2010 is the club's anniversary!

The PSOOC is much more than a website. we have real members, with real cars, and even a quarterly full colour magazine delivered to your letterbox. There are local groups, and we attend shows and meetings throughout the country. If you have no local group in your area, why not take on the challenge for yourself and become a Group Leader? Smile

Even if you can't get to a meet near you, being a full member of the club opens up extra doors within the website for all things Peugeot, plus exclusive members section within the forum.

Members receive our exclusive club magazine, "TORQUE" - that includes road tests of Peugeots, news from Peugeot, Race and rally news plus club news, views and readers letters, plus of course the chance to have your car featured.

Members also benefit from:
• Club Website at www.psooc.com with members only area
• MSA membership
• Our own National PUGFEST conventions-UK largest gathering of Sporting Peugeots and Owners
• Club Insurance Scheme's from Adrian Flux, Sky Insurance and Chris Knott.
• Discounts on parts and labour at many Peugeot dealers and specialists
• Discounts at various events throughout the year
• Club merchandise available
• Exclusive joining Pack
• Local group meetings
• TV and Magazine Features
• Research and development opportunities

The discount directory can be found here but needs updated with new discounts and benefits! Cool

psooc.com/downloads.ph...e&id=3

Membership is only £20 per year and also entitles you to discount on Pugfest, making a ticket just £6 instead of £9, camping £15 instead of £20 etc. You will soon re-coop your £20's worth of membership I can assure you Smile

If you have any questions, please fire away and I'll answer them as best as I can.

Cheers,

Brian.
(PSOOC Committee)

Is there a section up here, or is Scotland all grouped together?

Scotland is grouped together at the moment "G." on here is the Group leader. We don't think there's enough Scotland members to justify splitting it up at the moment. So for now, most meetings are being held across the central belt. By all means have a word with Graham though Smile

I'd be interesting in joining if I still had a Pug - you've got enough to share though. Can I have one of yours? Very Happy

If anyone is expecting 'open arms' because you own a Peugeot 206 FORGET IT! Only the 180 has any kind of a following, and that's very limited.

If you have a 205, 405, 309, 306 - then it will be of interest to you.

PSOOC is more focussed on earlier models.
If you are looking for banter, regular posts, quick replies, regular meets - then stick with 206info.

If you are after discount at Peugeot garages, discounted entry to PugFest, a good magazine quarterly, a great stand at national events, then it might be worth your £20/yr. There don't appear to be any 'chavs' or spammers on PSOOC either.

PSOOC is looking for new members, check it out before you commit Wink

Gee...thanks for that great support Ant from someone who's recently taken over the 206 GTi 180 register on PSOOC. Shocked

It's the Peugeot Sport official owners club if i recall correctly - everyone is welcome! There are not regular meetings on here all the time either. If you're an enthusiast in general, it may be of interest to you to come along to meetings to see some other nice cars, other than 206's from time to time.

Yes there are many members who have older models, but remember, it started 25 years ago and these models were largely what the club was founded upon Smile Newer models exist - just less in number.

Ah, the past 2 years he's been in show and shine you see. Pugfest was a blur this year for me, i could only get a quick walk around the show as i could only move 10 meters without someone shouting "Brian!" or me spotting someone else. Good though - i like that everyone kinda knows everyone at that show.

I used to go on there lot and be the Sussex Group leader, but interest died and I didn't really have time for it. I rarely go on there now, but Pugfest is still one of the best shows of the year.

There's now a group leader co-ordinator to help stop people giving up Laughing Not all sections are going to be booming i'm afraid. Just depends on where the main clusters of enthusiasts are. Scotland is a big area but we usually manage to pull a fair few people together.
