#4: Re: diagnostic scanner questions Author: continentalgt, Location: Paignton DevonPosted: Fri Oct 22, 2010 2:08 pm ---- The OBD2 fault code readers are only compliant with 2004 and later diesels although some people say they have got them to work OK on some earlier models.
I've got the 1.4HDi that has the OBD2 socket under the dash but it's supposed to be non compliant which is a bummer as I would also like to get a code reader.
#5: Re: diagnostic scanner questions Author: mrjonahlovetts, Location: hastingsPosted: Fri Oct 22, 2010 2:16 pm ---- i have seen a lead that converts obd to obd2 (think thats right) for a tenner - but need to know if it is possible to do very cheaply or am i just better paying my local garage 25 quid

Went to the garage to do mine today, turned out it was just 4 old faults which i'd already sorted out, if nothing else it gave me peace of mind

Don't think you can do that on pugs,
Vectras do it, also know as paper clip test.
My astra does what's called pedal test, were you hold accelerator and break down while turning key to number two and will flash fault codes out

Is that a petrol because they were OBD2 compliant from 1991 while the diesels were from 1994.
