#23: Re: Project Semi-Smooth Author: JG220, Location: At my deskPosted: Tue Nov 02, 2010 5:04 am ---- Poor thing
#24: Re: Project Semi-Smooth Author: Ryan..., Location: ChesterfieldPosted: Tue Nov 02, 2010 5:40 am ---- Due to broken clips and to guarantee it will not move the underside and edges have been tigersealed. the excess will be sanded down then smoothing starts. on the rear bumper if we don't fill it out abit then then the filler will most certainly crack, plastic welding could deformed it and tigerseal is just as good as fiberglass for things like that.

i disagree that tigerseal is just as good as fibreglass for that.... tigerseal's primary job is as an adhesive not as a building compound, unlike fibreglass where its primary job is as a building compound....
if it was me doing the job i would have tigersealed the strips on the car and bumper and then fibreglassed the edges to get a smooth finish not try and get the tigerseal to do a job its not properly designed to do.... i know tigerseal can be sanded and can fill out a bit but it's not the way i'd recommend at all...
#26: Re: Project Semi-Smooth Author: Ryan..., Location: ChesterfieldPosted: Tue Nov 02, 2010 10:05 am ---- It seems to work brilliantly and filler 'sticks' to it better. One of them things that's not meant to do it but does
It's also even as it was applied with a finger.

wont last tho mate. fibreglass would be even if applied properly aswell. the filler wont fully adhere as tigerseal contains slight amounts of silicone, this prevents all the moisture in the filler from escaping so cannot fully dry.
