A dyno of the MPS

V Tack is nothing special, it's a good idea in theory but have fun finding your torque.
I've been in Type R's and wasn't impressed. The 180 is a better car (and I'm not even fond of them any more!).

Quoting peak BHP is pointless when you don't go near it until 7k RPM...

My thoughts exactly, as well as the 206 being a hevier car than the EK9 so the crappy 115ft/ib of torque wont do anything, do it right first time, get a k20 from an import EP3.....or........just buy an EP3 because its going to cost you as much to it.

EDIT: and as we have been talking figures i guess people have seen the EK9 0-60 as 5.something seconds, which is why most peole think they are fast, but in actuall fact this figure cam from an EK9 race car on race fuel so it is a bulls**t figure anyway.

the b16a is belter of an engine!! if i was doing a transplant i'd pick it over a 180 engine anyday!! more reliable & you can keep them high in the VTEC zone all day long without so much of a grumble from the engine!!

I used to have a mk2 CRX VTEC 150bhp standard. Used to average about 35mpg with mixed driving. By the time I was done it with it it was 236bhp & the car weight lowered to a tad over 900kg. No FI neither, was pure NA tuning!! It'd happily rev at over 8k rpm without overheating etc

As for crappy torque figures, well, the whole point to VTEC & Type R engines is to have them well up in the VTEC zone for maximum fun Laughing If you were slow/shy with the throttle or gearing then you'd drop out of VTEC & probably get left behind by whatever you were playing with
