#1: My xsi Author: Chris_Pug_206, Location: Larne, Northern IrelandPosted: Sat Feb 20, 2010 4:55 pm ---- I bought this in November 08 as a standard xsi
First things to be done were a 55mm drop at the front and supposidly 1 click at the rear(i think its maybe 2??), i also stuck on a set of dark lexus lights and a peco 4" jap exhaust.
Next thing was rear tints and black angel eyes and a damn good clean!!
Since the last pics Ive removed the angel eyes because I had a set of morrettes on their way to me so sold the angels then the guy with the morettes decided to keep them I also had to remove the sunstrip for MOT, got a lot of plans for it this summer as I have to wiat til after my wedding to free up the pug funds!
#2: Re: My xsi Author: Lecktorious, Location: ScotlandPosted: Sat Feb 20, 2010 5:01 pm ---- Get the back raised up by someone who doesn't use the ancient 'click' method or its bye bye axle time
#3: Re: My xsi Author: Ruffy_206, Location: BristolPosted: Sat Feb 20, 2010 5:03 pm ---- what g said but looking good matey
#4: Re: My xsi Author: Locky, Location: Newcastle / PlymouthPosted: Sat Feb 20, 2010 5:05 pm ---- Looks really nice that mate, maybe a bit too low at the back tho!
#5: Re: My xsi Author: Ams1592, Location: West MidlandsPosted: Sat Feb 20, 2010 5:22 pm ---- Looks good mate but like the others said backs a bit too low.
#6: Re: My xsi Author: Chris_Pug_206, Location: Larne, Northern IrelandPosted: Sun Feb 21, 2010 5:51 am ---- Ive been on a mission for a while to get the rear raised, not many people want to tackle a torison bar around here so the only person i know that does them says thats only 1 click. I totally agree with yous the back end is far too low. I want it to sit right for a set of 17's (i dont want half the wheel up in the arch lol)
there's bound to be a way of setting it higher than that but not standard right??
#7: Re: My xsi Author: bertt, Location: chesterPosted: Tue Feb 23, 2010 2:44 pm ---- looks smart i think, got qouted around mine for a torsion bar lowering and demon tweeks came back with an astonishing £210? mad mad world. . .
#8: Re: My xsi Author: Cr4zYb0y, Location: SalisburyPosted: Tue Feb 23, 2010 2:44 pm ---- Team XSi
#9: Re: My xsi Author: Chris_Pug_206, Location: Larne, Northern IrelandPosted: Thu Feb 17, 2011 12:58 pm ---- Time to bring this post back from the dead!! I didnt really do much modifications ways over the past year more sorting different running problems like head gasket (it was in the early stages of going), full exhaust from manifold back, getting rear axle bearing done suprise suprise but now everythings running the way it should ive decided to tidy it up a bit. Over the past month or 2 ive masked the front lights, had the front windows and sunstrip done in medium smoke and then on Saturday I got my roof done in gloss black vinyl. The car is entered into a local show at the end of March so by then Im getting the rear axle lowered a little bit as its sitting too high compared to the front at the mo, painting the wheels in graphite and adding wind deflectors. May get a few other things done money pending. Id love to do a lot more but funds are currently going into my holiday to Florida at the mo.
So what do ya's think of the small update? Any suggestions of low budget things I could do before the show??
#10: Re: My xsi Author: Addaz, Location: SuffolkPosted: Thu Feb 17, 2011 1:09 pm ---- Different wheels is a start mate, nims would look swish
Mask the inner fogs black too
And i that is 2 clicks, it is arguable that it decreases axle life time but tbh i would say its just as bad as lowering the axle in the first place. Notch method or mm method either way is fine IMO
#11: Re: My xsi Author: Chris_Pug_206, Location: Larne, Northern IrelandPosted: Thu Feb 17, 2011 1:16 pm ---- It was '2 clicks' but it was raised when the bearings were redone, its now '1 click' which isnt enough to match the front lol. It used to be too low at the rear now its too high. Ive got a fella lined up that lowers in mm rather than clicks so he's gonna sort it perfectly. I think im gonna have to do the fogs, they really take the orange/black theme away lol. Cant really afford to change the wheels til the end of June so gonna just graphite the wheels that are on it for now.
Heres a pic to show the rear being a little too high, oh and before somebody suggests changing the rear spoiler to a gti I like the 1 thats on it, I actually took a gti spoiler off to put this on
#12: Re: My xsi Author: Addaz, Location: SuffolkPosted: Thu Feb 17, 2011 1:47 pm ---- Thats standard height
#13: Re: My xsi Author: Chris_Pug_206, Location: Larne, Northern IrelandPosted: Thu Feb 17, 2011 2:03 pm ---- Its not, if you look at the 1st and 2nd pic at the top of the page they are standard height, there's a good 1" to 1.5" of a difference but i need it another 1" or so down
#14: Re: My xsi Author: Mike_XS, Location: SouthamptonPosted: Thu Feb 17, 2011 4:13 pm ---- Your car is looking sweet man!

Definatly needs them lol, I keep saying im gunna get a set and never bother. I DEFINATLY will get them this week!! Any suggestions on wheel colour? At the min the plan is some sort of graphite but im open to suggestions as to other colours or a good shade of graphite?
#18: Re: My xsi Author: EmoStu, Location: LutonPosted: Thu Feb 24, 2011 2:43 am ---- Wow, loving the roof Chris! Have you got anything else planned for it? Can't wait til I can afford to get my Firedance looking as swish as yours
#19: Re: My xsi Author: Chris_Pug_206, Location: Larne, Northern IrelandPosted: Sat Feb 26, 2011 3:41 pm ---- Cheers Emostu, im doing the wheels graphite next weekend, lowering the rear a bit more to match the front, dark side repeaters and wind deflectors! Thats the main plans but in the long term I want to put a de-badge grille on and take the notch out of the bonnet etc.
#20: Re: My xsi Author: Chris_Pug_206, Location: Larne, Northern IrelandPosted: Fri Mar 11, 2011 2:20 pm ---- Little update, car is heading a a friend of a friend in the morning to drop the rear by around 1inch so it should match the front. I went and got myself some graphite paint and a lacquer kit so I can paint my wheels next weekend. Gotta ring a local supplier first thing on monday to order wind delectors and black side repeaters so hopefully have them fitted next weekend aswell. The shop im dealing with supply Farad wind deflectors, any of ya's got them or heard of them before?
#21: Re: My xsi Author: EmoStu, Location: LutonPosted: Sun Mar 20, 2011 7:18 am ---- I went with Team Heko deflectors on mine mate, waiting for them in the post at the mo.
Get some pics up with the extra work done dude! Got the side repeaters on yet?
#22: Re: My xsi Author: XSIcheeseman, Location: OrpingtonPosted: Thu Mar 24, 2011 10:57 am ---- where did you get your back lowered?
#23: Re: My xsi Author: Chris_Pug_206, Location: Larne, Northern IrelandPosted: Mon Mar 28, 2011 1:37 pm ---- Ok so a fair change in the past 2 weeks, the Farad deflectors look poo lol, they are near clear so didnt take them gonna get heko's instead. The rear ended up a bit lower than i wanted but im happy enough fo now. Now for the good bit!! While i had the wheels off the car to paint them I decided to pull the plastics off and paint them lol, my mate has a compressor etc in his garage and im a time served spray painter so why not!! Got the wheels done graphite ut in shadows they near look black and cc'd my plastics then it was time for a good clean and oh a car show yesterday!! This is the only pic I have at the min but hopefully ill find more later, what do ya's think of how it is now?
As you can see its still in need of black side repeaters as the shop still havn't got them for me!!
#24: Re: My xsi Author: Chris_Pug_206, Location: Larne, Northern IrelandPosted: Mon Mar 28, 2011 1:39 pm ---- Im well made up about the mirrors lol, I did them gloss black with the firedance caps and im in love with them! So simple but so effective, Thanks all you 180'ers for the idea!
#25: Re: My xsi Author: Chris_Pug_206, Location: Larne, Northern IrelandPosted: Sun Nov 06, 2011 10:38 am ---- My poor wee pug hasn't had any new additions in months so ive treated it a bit this week, I felt sorry for it after somebody rubbed my rear bumper in work and drove on without saying anything. Lucky enough I still have paint and lacquer left from colour coding! Anyways I bought a few bits n bobs over the weekend including sp vent sliders, ph2 washer jets (just won them on ebay for £1.04! Result lol) Black side repeaters at last, 3 tyres, 2 needed replacing and 1 on the rear was an odd size to the rest and needed changing for mot. Oh and hopefully I should have sp arches fitted by christmas. Dropping car off to mechanic tonight to start mot prep. Not due til start of december so hopefully he will have enough time to prepare it lol. Ill update with pics when I get it back!
#26: Re: My xsi Author: Chris_Pug_206, Location: Larne, Northern IrelandPosted: Sun Nov 06, 2011 12:03 pm ---- Just won a set of sp arches on ebay and they are already painted in firedance! My wee motor is gettin some treatment this weekend!!!
