#1: ECU controls what exactly? Author: V9977, Location: Athens, GreecePosted: Mon Nov 08, 2010 2:41 pm ---- Don't say the engine, we all knew that.
As far as I know the following on a 1.4i 206:
Input from sensors:
Throttle position
MAP
Engine temperature
Air intake temperature
Crank shaft position
O2 sensor (regulating)
O2 sensor (diagnostic)
Power steering circuit pressure
Output to actuators:
Ignition spark timing
Idle control stepper motor
Fans
Fuel pump
Is that all?
How is the rich/lean mix adjusted and consequent 'overfueling' possible?
Any further info much appreciated.

Yes but what does it control to affect fuelling in the engine?

Yes but what does it control to affect fuelling in the engine?
The injector timing
#6: Re: ECU controls what exactly? Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Mon Nov 08, 2010 3:01 pm ---- It controls.....
Fuel pump relay
Canister purge valve
Injectors (1, 2, 3, 4)
Coilpack
A/C
Cooling Fan
Interacts with Instrument Cluster
Diag Connector
ABS
Alternator Signal
Speed sensor
knock sensor
crankshaft position sensor
map sensor
thermo timer switch
coolant temp
stepper motor
Throttle valve potentiometer
lambda sensors
fuel pump
based on the sagem s2000 ecu
EDIT: Function
The control unit is the electronic processing unit for the motormanagement system. The control unit has to ensure that the engine receives the right amount of fuel, the right ignition timing and a proper idle control in every operating state. The control unit uses sensors to determine engine operating conditions. Depending on the engine conditions, the control unit activates actuators.
Quickcheck
Check connector(s): Inspect the connector(s) and if necessary clean or fix them to make sure the connection is good. When you suspect the control unit is faulty make sure all sensors, actuators and the communication with other control units function properly. Furthermore check the supply voltage and ground connections of the control unit: Turn ignition off. Remove ECU connector. Locate the supply voltage connections. Turn ignition on, measure voltage between corresponding connector terminal(s) and the negative terminal of the battery, these should equal battery voltage. If not check wiring and fuse. Turn ignition off. Locate the ground connections. Measure resistance between corresponding connector terminal(s) and the negative terminal of the battery, these should be < 1 ohm.

Is there an electrical connection to them?
#8: Re: ECU controls what exactly? Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Mon Nov 08, 2010 3:24 pm ---- Yep
Quote::
Function
The injector is triggered by the control unit, the solenoid inside the injector pulls up an armature connected to the nozzle needle. This causes fuel to be sprayed into the intake manifold.

I have no problem in this area at the moment but
its good to know how it works.
Cheers.

Bosch ECU

#12: Re: ECU controls what exactly? Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Sun Dec 05, 2010 2:44 pm ---- That is Tolerance Data (similar to AutoData). Peugeot schematics are pretty rubbish for things like that.
#13: Re: ECU controls what exactly? Author: Schumi, Location: Istanbul / TurkeyPosted: Sun Dec 05, 2010 2:58 pm ---- Thanks Lee. I have that program ISO file but i never install that. I will try tomorrow. Thank you again.
