Its not like they are on all the time just for dark country lanes.....

#3: Re: Full Beam - Rally Bulbs? Author: Dabamash, Location: The car in frontPosted: Thu Nov 11, 2010 5:02 pm ---- Isn't 55 the max safe wattage?
#4: Re: Full Beam - Rally Bulbs? Author: Lewis1304, Location: NuneatonPosted: Thu Nov 11, 2010 5:03 pm ---- Thought that could be an issue.... What bulbs would you recommend for full beam?

#6: Re: Full Beam - Rally Bulbs? Author: Seabook, Posted: Thu Nov 11, 2010 5:10 pm ---- you need thicker wire and ceramic bulb holder if you want to run high power bulb. need to swap the fuse as well

#13: Re: Full Beam - Rally Bulbs? Author: Dabamash, Location: The car in frontPosted: Thu Nov 11, 2010 5:24 pm ---- I have a few SMDs in each side. It's pretty bright. Kinda like the R8 lights condensed into the corners.
#14: Re: Full Beam - Rally Bulbs? Author: Seabook, Posted: Thu Nov 11, 2010 5:25 pm ---- you got angle headlight? no matter what bulb you put in it makes no different, still pretty poor light output
#15: Re: Full Beam - Rally Bulbs? Author: Rob2859, Location: HalifaxPosted: Thu Nov 11, 2010 5:30 pm ---- I have 100w's in my main beams. not caused me any problems.

#17: Re: Full Beam - Rally Bulbs? Author: Dabamash, Location: The car in frontPosted: Thu Nov 11, 2010 5:31 pm ---- Make sure you get the towers of 9 or more SMDs on each side, or the output won't be comparable to normal sidelights.
#18: Re: Full Beam - Rally Bulbs? Author: kingdom200, Location: Leamington SpaPosted: Fri Nov 12, 2010 12:17 am ---- i know quite a lot of people that have 100w as main beams, also living in jamaica at the moment and probably 30% of people are running 100w bulbs fine because there no laws like that
#19: Re: Full Beam - Rally Bulbs? Author: rubyspilot, Posted: Fri Nov 12, 2010 1:51 am ---- There's a bit of a clue on the packet when it says "off road use only"
Having said that the loom can handle it and plod would have to remove your bulbs to be sure.
But anything that attracts the attention of the "5-O" is not a good idea (think about any other crimes they might uncover)
#20: Re: Full Beam - Rally Bulbs? Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Fri Nov 12, 2010 6:14 am ---- Will the original relay be rated highly enough?
#21: Re: Full Beam - Rally Bulbs? Author: Rob2859, Location: HalifaxPosted: Fri Nov 12, 2010 6:17 am ---- I got my 100w ones because you can see the corners a lot further ahead on a dark 60 road which is very useful.
#22: Re: Full Beam - Rally Bulbs? Author: hobnob48, Posted: Fri Nov 12, 2010 7:17 am ---- My high beams are 100w Rally bulbs from hafords. To be honest you might as well just get the 100% or 150% brighter bulbs they sell as I checked the difference by having 1 in each side and they are not far off. Rally bulbs give a more yellow light then the others.
PS They havnt broken anything on my car yet and I do a lot of driving down dark roads

I mean the odd ice patch hear and there. the electronic aids don't mean its impossible to crash.
I found my 206 is pretty good in the snow considering it doesn't have and fancy electronic stuff.
#26: Re: Full Beam - Rally Bulbs? Author: hobnob48, Posted: Fri Nov 12, 2010 9:43 am ---- Awsome. Also found mk3 fiestas are good too. So if anyone is looking for a cheap car so they dont damage their 206 in the weather try and find one of them
