if its preplexed, probably easy to stick unless you want to remove whole wiring and replace with multiplexed.

Or do you mean other car engines like the gti-6 etc?

You mean if its easier it probably just easier to stick with my engine? Im not to sure to be honest i was just looking at options, would consider anything. But without changing all the wiring lol.

If its preplexed, then its easier to stick with preplexed engines like the early 1.6, 2.0 gti etc

But if you want something like a 180 engine then its more difficult as whole wiring needs changing in car as its multiplexed.

a gti-6 engine will fit fine in a preplexed for sure as racerxbon did it.

What year is your pug?

Very Happy It answered your question exactly.
Your engine, the phase 1 1.4 8v is the only one that will drop straight in.

Not true, so will the 1.1 and 1.6 8v Wink

Engines aren't multiplexed anyway, you can swap sensors to adjust for the multiplexing.

What He Said

an engine in an engine in both ways, its the bits around it like sensors that maybe slightly different.

So as a no hassle straight swop, I still think like for like is the easiest solution.

if you put it that way your right,

but changing a few sensors is easyer than getting the engine in and out so its not hard.

a gti 138 will be easiest engine to fit without problems then the gti 6, bigger so be a little harder, then if you want a total p**s take go for the 180 ive heard its amazingly annoying to fit to a pre plex

To fit a GTi engine, you will need to change the wiring and gearbox too!!
