We had only been in the pub 10 mins when we had a phone call to say the house had been broken into. That was the longest taxi ride of my life.
It was such a relief to see the car still there though :)
Of course im glad I still have it but I think that is beside the point really.

Some parts of sheffield are actually quite nice. Lucky the car was still there mate, hope its not too expensive to fix.
#18: Re: Dont ever take your car to Sheffield! :( Author: Lecktorious, Location: ScotlandPosted: Thu Nov 18, 2010 5:50 pm ---- Don't get a new key mate, replace the locks. The last thing you want is the car disappearing 6 months down the line.
#19: Re: Dont ever take your car to Sheffield! :( Author: actionman, Location: HuddersfieldPosted: Thu Nov 18, 2010 6:21 pm ---- ah man that's sh*te!!
i live in barnsely which isn't that far from Sheffield!!
I've also got a 2002 Vectra 2.2 SRi 150. Bought it from a lad at work that had basically thrown away the transponder chip from out of his ONLY car key!! Something was rattling about in his key so he took it apart, found what he thought was a little bit of useless plastic & chucked it in the skip!!
I could've bought a new transponder & paid an autolocksmith to code it. To do that though I would've had to give Vauxhall £28 to obtain the 4 digit code for the immob!! Then another £10 for a transponder chip & about £70 for 2 new keys as i'd want a spare. Then would need them coding which is about £60!!
Instead I just bought a full ECU/immob, lock set & 2 keys off of Ebay for £80. Fitted the parts myeself in about 45mins!! Everything works fine!!

And on tuesday night when I was staying at a mates house near London Road, the house got broken into and the car keys were stolen
Just as well it was parked a couple of streets away...
So, does anyone know roughly how much Peugeot charge for a replacement coded key??
I asked this the other day, they can make the ECU think its only got one key for £60 but they could still open your doors if they wanted, to change the lot they said its around £600!!!!
