About the Nurburgring stickers... Just shouts to me: "I've driven to Germany, and ragged the f**k out my my car around a race track!"

Great for potential buyers! Laughing

My LCR has been round the 'Ring a few times with the previous owner, and it's been around Europe, makes no difference really. As long as there is evidence of maintenance etc then what's the problem?

Well let me argue from the other side....

I can't understand the whole argument about a petty sticker. It's a sticker. Nothing more, nothing less.

You haven't 'earned' it. Anyone can go there. Anyone can pay. Anyone can then get a sticker. Fair enough you have pride. For driving around a track though? Confused Come off it, you've hardly done something that nobody else can do...

Lay off the guy. New site and everything, but you've all collectively probably just scared the guy off.

Well done.

Let's agree to disagree then, I fully well believe I have "earned" the right to display it, and people often ask I have really been, often expecting me to reply that I haven't been. It's like going to Mecca for petrolheads!
Please don't make me out to be stupid if you don't understand Wink

Well, if I was a potential buyer for the car, it would put me off that's all. Just an opinion.

Nothing against your or anyones' cars...

I can't see why it would put you off really. After all some cars are made to be driven hard, and the only place you can get the potential out of some cars is on track.

Like Ape said, if it shows signs of been well looked after then there is no problem. Signs of neglect and been ragged to an inch of it's life without proper maintenance would put me off, but if buying from a real enthusiast will probably land you a better car, whether its been on track or not.

OK, if it's a Porsche, Lambo, Ferrari, etc - Fine.

But a 206? It would put me off... Unless it had some modifications that would protect it from being driven 'hard', as you say.

i do think alan has a point as when these exotic cars when in the design rooms/enginneering room wt ever that have the engine built around knowing they may be thrashed around time to time. but when the french engineers are developing there 206 then had a city car comutting car in mind not one to be wipped around a track. dont think im saying they shouldn't i would do a track day or two if i had the opertunity but i dont know where to start or prep or like alan said protection.

Didn't want to join in on the whole going off topic thing but you guys are arguing about a car going around the Nurbourg being a potential death trap / ragged motor. I would like to think if someone cares after their car enough and if I use Jamie as an example, seems to know what he's doing with the car as it's his pride and joy he wouldn't rag it majorly and he's done it up for speed by the looks of it. Surely you should be more worried about some of the cars on here with their big bore exhausts, chav lights etc that give me a much bigger impression of being ragged - at the end of the day their 1 litre jobbies are pushed to go as fast as possible.

How did you earn the sticker? I thought they'd sell it to anyone that showed up & bumbled around. Not exactly the Victoria Cross is it?
And I wonder how many people slagging him off wear football shirts of a team they don't play for?

Worst comeback ever. People wear football shirts of the teams they support, not teams they play for you mug. Rolling Eyes
