Yeah they did get recalled about that time. If you ring your local dealer they should be a ble to tell you if yours has had the update or not

Wouldnt of thought so. I remeber Brian saying something about it a little while ago.

If its a safety recall it should be done for free

Was that when they lowered the limiter or was it always like that in the UK?

Defect: The software may cause erratic operation of the motorised throttle, which may result in breakage of the throttle stop. This can result in the engine reverting to limp home mode, with a possible reduction in braking assistance.
Action: Subject vehicles will be recalled and the condition eradicated by carrying out an ECU download.
Launch Date: 14 May 2004

Mine had been recalled, it's in the service history. Not sure what was done though. Interesting about the limiter one, what did they do to it?

Mikey - the thing I was talking about was probably just a random update. It turns on the rear wiper when you go into reverse and sets the rev limiter to 6800rpm amongst other bits n bobs.

My wiper used to come on when put into reverse (de-wipered now) and I've had the recall but it still revs over 7k?

Could it be remapped? Mine doesn't do the wiper thing and it's a 54 plate. I guess the owner at the time couldn't be bothered...

No, no remap unless there was different levels to the recall? What was the point of the limit reduction?

well, I went to the local pug garage today, and they said my car has never been recalled, and doesn't need to be. He said it depends on the chassis number.. very strange, because I obviously don't have the update!
