I've had no trouble with mine, feels remarkably stable actually, much better than my 306.

Mine's been a bit nervous, but I'm not really used to snow driving.
I span around 90 degrees to the road whilst coming off a roundabout the first day though. Not a great start.
It was probably my own fault, but I managed to correct it ok. Since then I've just been careful whenever I see ice, and prepared to start countersteering! lol.

I don't have the cash to be spending out on tyres when it's only for a week or so round here. Being extra careful will have to do!

I dont dare take my 206 out in the snow.
I pulled up on a slight down hill and the bugger didnt even want to set off again.

Snow tyres are certainly the way forward but make sure to change back when the winter is gone as snow tyres arn't happy in just normal wet conditions... My Mam had some on her Evo 6 and in the summer wetness she used to loose the back end a few times due to these. She locks the car away for winter now and only uses it in the summer with normal tyres, much better responce lol.

You want WINTER tyres not M+S tyres. No way bad enough conditions for what is basically a rally event tyre, hahaha.

I run these in the winter on the BMW. Perfect. Drives on sheet ice with no problems. Smile

Not cheap though. Wheels + Tyres = about £1000. Second year of use though now, so now I call it 500 a year Wink

Will probably last another 3-4 years (Assuming I keep to BMWs.. Otherwise I'd have to get new alloys in the same J rating in order to keep using the tyres on my next car.. )

Could not agree more with mega these tyres are superb have them fitted on my wife 207 gt this is second winter, the differece is incredible going from perelli pzero neros that just spun on damp roads to the level of grip from these tyres. great choice

They are but are the new breed of winter tyres not out and out mud and snow tyres

i doubt most offroad M&S tyres would fit in the wheel arch of a standard car Laughing

in fairness though, i have conti ts770 and dunlop winter sport m3's on my golf and have got everywhere with them i needed to. even coming off my drive i have almost a foot of churned up snow to clamber over and it gets there safely.

The Wintrac Xtreme is their "fast road" winter tyre. It is not M+S marked.

The Vred graph on their own site shows it best:

www.vredestein.co.uk/B...dgroepID=2

Basically the ones to the left of the picture and higher up.. Snowtracs in particular: Are M+S rated. The Wintrac Xtreme is their fastest winter profile which is all we need in the UK.
It is also the best for when it's not snowing so is a good winter tyre Wink I run Wintrac Xtremes on the BM for 3 months a year, then switch back to Falken FK-452s.

They are ZR rated too so can go up to 180 mph Wink I only need 150 or so Wink But you won't get that in an M+S tyre which is usually only H or Y rated (126mph I think? )
