It can be a number of things but most likely the 1st Lambda sensor (pre cat)

I am also looking to fit a 2000 Coil pack onto my 2004 Gti. Does anyone know if this will work?

Also how do you get to the hydraulic tappets?

Thanks

I had the same fault code and problems on my 180 only a few weeks ago... just got it back from mechanic after he replaced the battery. Found that the main clamp on the pipe that goes into the airbox was loose. Tightned this up, fired her up and all is well.

You might find that a particular fault code may relate to multiple different problems, so don't take my word for it. Double check that everything relating to you air intake is sweet.

I had this one morning last week when it was reeeeeally cold (-13 at night).

Phoned my Peugeot mechanic back home and he told me to give it 10 more starts from cold before going to get it plugged it and its probably ice/grit getting into the lambda sensor.

Low and behold, the next day when it was't as cold the fault disappeared and hasnt come back since!
