#1: car keys stolen Author: Diablo, Location: Coventry PostPosted: Wed Dec 08, 2010 2:23 am

Ok basically last night my car keys were stolen from the house. The car wasn't taken or touched and I still have the spare key so can still drive it but I need to get the locks changed because I don't want them to come back for it in the future.

I've already called my car insurance and they say they won't cover it because the car hasn't been stolen and the home insurance would have a massive excess on it. So can anybody tell me how much it is likely to cost change all the locks and recode the car so the old fob won't open it?

Your nearest pug garage will be open now, give them a quick call and they will be able to tell you exactly.

Arm & a leg.
Or don't change the locks & instead see if you can convince the old bill to camera up the car. What a brilliant opportunity to catch the thieving scum red handed.

well they broke into the house and took nothing else so they might come back for the car. it is blocked in though so its not like thier going to be able to drive off with it

Make sure you take everything out your car when you go home tonight, they may not take the car but you might come outside tomorrow to find your entire interior is gone Sad Theiving little gypsys!
