Boiling water shifted it along with de-icer when i got home, the colour coded panel then fell off :S Clipped back into place with some Tigerseal for added grip, should be fine in few hours.
Just another reason why i hate winter

#4: Re: Frozen Petrol Cap Author: Jayyy1989, Location: CoventryPosted: Wed Dec 08, 2010 2:38 am ---- I wish i had done that haha instead the beeps just made me drive off, ahwell should be okay when tigerseal has cured, there's a temporary petrol cap on it at the minute
#5: Re: Frozen Petrol Cap Author: Big_Rich180, Posted: Wed Dec 08, 2010 2:53 am ---- I used de-icer and WD40 the other day, still took 20 mins though
#6: Re: Frozen Petrol Cap Author: lofty, Location: Near ManchesterPosted: Wed Dec 08, 2010 2:56 am ---- Hot water works but if you can't get any then use a lighter on the blade of your key to heat it up.

#13: Re: Frozen Petrol Cap Author: staz999, Location: WoodfordPosted: Wed Dec 08, 2010 4:49 am ---- Happened twice now! I jus heat the blade up (in the car away from the fumes) till it finally releases! Be careful not tk break ya key though, mines started to become very fragile :-(!
#14: Re: Frozen Petrol Cap Author: Dabamash, Location: The car in frontPosted: Wed Dec 08, 2010 5:18 am ---- I used WD40 inside the lock, the very gradually forced the lock to open. Took about 2 mins.
Still, the woman behind me didn't look too happy.
