#1: peugeot 206 car stereo on when ignition off problem Author: djspuddy, Location: clevelandPosted: Wed Dec 08, 2010 11:35 am ---- this is my first post and i now need some advice. Hopefully some pleasant soul will help.
I recently bought a Peugeot 206 and set about replacing the pretty rubbish head unit with a sony one .
My problem is when i turn the ignition off there appears to be a delay in the ignition feed actually switching off. It takes roughly one minute for the Sony stereo to bleep (a reminder to remove the face plate) . My previous car switched off immediately and all messages appeared when the key was turned.
Am i doing something wrong or is this a normal occurance? Is there any way round it.
I'd really appreciate any help or advice anyone can give.

#3: Re: peugeot 206 car stereo on when ignition off problem Author: skard, Location: UK - NorthPosted: Wed Dec 08, 2010 2:03 pm ---- it's because the stereo is taking a power feed from the BSI, so doesn't kill power to the HU until the BSI stops providing it, i.e., when it goes to sleep.
it's been covered a few times on the forum, but if you have a look at your ISO plug (one that goes into the stereo) then remove pins 4 and 6 from the power block. put the old pin 4 into pin 6 position, and isolate the old pin 6 out of the way.
doing this should give your HU power only when the key is in the ignition. my 206 is multiplexed and has a sony HU and this is how it works for me.
