Also going to get under the car and actually look at my brakes... maybe even visit a few motor factors if I need to.
What is the minimum thickness of pads for a 206?
Whats the best way to check what type of pads I need?
Looking on eurocarparts there are 2 different rear pads and 1 set of fronts.
Looking at the fitment guide, both of the rears are the same fitment.
Fronts listed are Bosch, both rears are Bendix.
Does that sound correct?
BTW, many many thanks for all the help guys I really should start making more appearances on here!
EDIT: Also, I believe I should check the condition of my disks at the same time, is there an easy way to check the disk thickness?
Thanks,
Ben

The minimum thickness of discs is 20mm. Just use a ruler to measure them.
The rear discs have a minimum thickness of 6mm. They should be 247x8mm
Front pads are:-
131mm long
47.5mm high
18 mm thick
Rear pads are:-
105mm long
54.8mm high
11mm thick

I've put my car reg into euro car parts and its come up with the correct rear brakes that match your dimensions but not the front.
Done a manual search and can't find the fronts either
Can the pad size vary slightly depending on the make?
EBC I have found:
Front-
130x50x17
Rear-
106x56x11
Thats seems fairly close lol. Does that sound about right?

I just clicked on the first ones, by no means am I recommending those brands.
Ferodo pads with Brembo discs everytime

Thats probably the quality of pads/disk that is on there now so until i have funds to upgrade then they should do fine
#23: Re: Kwik Fit for brake pads? Author: Bigbenj_08, Location: CardiffPosted: Sun Dec 12, 2010 9:49 am ---- Well... just been halfords...
Bought a trolley jack, some copper grease and I'm now buying some EBC Ultimax pads for front and rear
So next weekend i'll be changing the pads myself.
Disks are perfectly fine, almost no wear on the rear and about 1mm on the fronts.
think i'm going to continue the trend of doing stuff myself and finally get the air filter changed too lol. Found the K+N standard replacement fairly cheap so i'll give that a go
