#1: Alarm Prob - help needed Author: cookiemonster, Location: In front of youPosted: Sun Dec 12, 2010 4:32 am ---- Had my car off the road with battery disconnected for 5 weeks, just got the car back yesterday battery reconnected car started straight away but my alarm does not seem to be functioning as it should.
when I lock the door with the key and then press the small top button on fob to alarm the car it makes a BIP noise for about half a second the car is not alarming as the light on the dash is not lit -
can the alarm be re-set in any way please ?
any advise welcome
#2: Re: Alarm Prob - help needed Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Sun Dec 12, 2010 5:29 am ---- The BIP noise is telling you that a door / boot / bonnet isnt shut correctly.
The alarm wont arm in that state.
#3: Re: Alarm Prob - help needed Author: cookiemonster, Location: In front of youPosted: Sun Dec 12, 2010 5:48 am ---- I cant even set the "panic" alarm off - I can lock the doors and press the small button to alarm which now makes no audible noise and the light on the dash is now flashing to say it is alarmed but unsure how to actually check it !!

#10: Re: Alarm Prob - help needed Author: tomd0801754, Location: MoscowPosted: Sun Dec 12, 2010 6:52 am ---- Has yours got the ultrasonic sensors in the A pillars?
If so, put the window down, lock and alarm, than pass your hand infront of the sensor. If it goes off, its fine. If not, then its not fine

I've got a dicky drivers lock which doesn't always lock and that causes my alarm to not activate.

best pic i found in a quick search...
the top part is the plunger switched previously referred to.
when the bonnet latches shut it should push down on this.
thus, if it has fallen off or doesn't fully engage it won't activate the alarm.
#19: Re: Alarm Prob - help needed Author: wpday07, Location: WiltshirePosted: Tue Jun 21, 2011 3:18 pm ---- Hi, Did you fix the problem? I also have an alarm that wont function,
the Boot/Bonnet sensors are situated in the correct place
the wiring seems to be ok to the Textron control box (Pillars are connected)
Ive tried arming it with the windows down and running my hand across the sensors, nothing happens, not even the lights flash..
the only weird thing is when i lock and unlock the car i get a strange noise as if someone *excuse this* farted.
How can i get the blinkin thing to work...
anyones help much appreciated.

#22: Re: Alarm Prob - help needed Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Tue Jun 21, 2011 3:59 pm ---- Your alarm isn't even activating then. Possibly a problem with the control unit
#23: Re: Alarm Prob - help needed Author: wpday07, Location: WiltshirePosted: Tue Jun 21, 2011 4:04 pm ---- ive taken the thing out, disconnected it, reconnected it, still nothing, the fuse is ok also, yeah you could be right, thank you.

Your alarm is trying to tell you one of the doors / boot / bonnet isnt shut correctly & that means the system wont arm.
#25: Re: Alarm Prob - help needed Author: wpday07, Location: WiltshirePosted: Wed Jun 22, 2011 4:10 am ---- so the sensors are broken?

You need to check which sensor is stopping the alarm system arming.
