#1: HDi injectors Author: EDP407, Location: Melksham, WiltshirePosted: Sun Dec 12, 2010 11:19 am ---- Right, please could somebody tell me an as accurate as possible estimate of how much it would be to:
1) refurbish all 4 injectors
2) replace all 4 injectors
on a 2.0 HDi 90 engine.
And which one you think would be best when my injectors are BADLY worn. Thanks in advanced for your help
#2: Re: HDi injectors Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Sun Dec 12, 2010 11:51 am ---- £336.13 each brand new from Peugeot

#10: Re: HDi injectors Author: panason1c, Location: SomersetPosted: Sun Dec 12, 2010 1:00 pm ---- If it starts well and doesnt smoke i doubt there is much wrong with your injectors...........

Really? I have just been told time and time again that my injectors need replacing urgently. How long has urs sounded like this or has it always done?
#13: Re: HDi injectors Author: troy, Location: llanelliPosted: Sun Dec 12, 2010 1:13 pm ---- iv only had my car 3 months, but i work for suzuki and we have this engine in the grand vitara and thats how they sound.
if you really think there is something wrong with them then take them out and send them off to be tested which i think is around 30 pound each

This is going to make me look extremely stupid now but when I had the misfiring fault fixed, I had it done at a main peugeot dealership (needed a courtesy car for work) and they said themselves the injectors are fine and have another 30,000 miles on them. Am I just being paraoid? It's just a mate whoes studied mechanics says their heavily worn and the engine does sound poor compared to other diesels
#15: Re: HDi injectors Author: troy, Location: llanelliPosted: Sun Dec 12, 2010 1:20 pm ---- i very much doubt he can tell how worn a injector is just by listening to it. if your really concerned then take it to a garage and tell them what you have been told.
#16: Re: HDi injectors Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Sun Dec 12, 2010 1:20 pm ---- You're been paranoid, sounds similar to mine as well.
You have to think that style of engine is 12 years old now, so it will be noisier than more modern ones.
Studying something doesn't always mean they were good at it. They could have just read from books and put nothing into practise, or they could have been s**t at it in the first place.

#18: Re: HDi injectors Author: Seabook, Posted: Sun Dec 12, 2010 1:31 pm ---- that clip sounds like my diesel as well, so i wouldn't worry too much
#19: Re: HDi injectors Author: EDP407, Location: Melksham, WiltshirePosted: Sun Dec 12, 2010 2:33 pm ---- thanks guys for all your reassurance

#20: Re: HDi injectors Author: Steve206, Location: UKPosted: Sun Dec 12, 2010 2:43 pm ---- What were we listening for?! Sounds like my old HDi, and mine had only covered 30k.
See if you can find another HDi, your not missing anything!
#21: Re: HDi injectors Author: Devon-Derv, Location: Paignton, DevonPosted: Sun Dec 12, 2010 3:27 pm ---- To be honest it doesnt sound alot differant to my hdi and mine runs fine
#22: Re: HDi injectors Author: CRWCars, Location: PenzancePosted: Mon Dec 13, 2010 11:32 am ---- Had a problem with injectors on a 1.4 HDI recently. Fairly basic diagnosis pinpointed that 3 injectors were compensating for 1. Contacted Diesel Jones in Manchester and got a very good price, better than anywhere else and the injector was reconditioned. Sold car 2 months ago and no problems so far!
