#1: Replacing A Clutch Author: mmmski, Location: Doncaster/SouthamptonPosted: Wed Dec 15, 2010 2:57 pm ---- My Clutch has gone on my GTi 180, been sat still for the past 2 months as I cant afford to replace it just yet. The crankshaft alignment light is on so it will not turn over. How hard will it be to replace the the clutch myself? I have small amount of mechanical knowledge and access to the proper tools.

It shows you exactly how to do it and you can get a clutch kit fairly cheap. You'll also need an alignment tool. about £15 in halfords. Will take you about a day first time. you'll need a mate to help lift too.

dont rush and spend some time taking things off so that you remember where they came from, you'll need more than one jack and a spare set of hands to put the gear box back on as its heavy and awrkard
