#1: My Mystery 206 Case Solved! Author: Razpulsedj, Location: Partying with the Info Shufflers PostPosted: Wed Dec 15, 2010 3:46 pm

As most members might know, my car is a bit of a mystery which has baffled even the peugeot dealers.

What brought this car to my attention was that when i bought it then owner said that it was a roland garros and pointed out that it was written on the log book saying that, as it has almost everything which the roland garros has

What came out of the part 1 of this topic which can be seen here >>>> My Mystery 206 Part 1 <<<<

These answers came from you guys stating that:

My car could have been ordered from outside of the Uk which was made specialy but was never delivered due to the buyer cancelling the order

It could have been resprayed

It could have be imported

It could have been customized to ditto the Roland Garros model

The first answer at the top was more on the money but when i got in touch with a peugeot fanatic i found out a little more today

When i visited the guy he said that yes it imitates the Roland Garros but certain parts had been put on by the previous owner such as the morettes, well ive customized it a hell of a lot which can be viewed here in my project thread >>>> My Project Thread <<<<<

But anyway he told me that when the 206's took off, the peugeot dealers wanted silver and black 206's in the showroom for some sort of theme so my car was created and he said that its a Peugeot 206 Black. Can anyone shed some light on the Black part? Yes its black but its the certain model just like the Ford Fiesta Black. He also said that hardly anyway were made and they are harder to come by than the Roland Garros and maybe even the Grand Tourisme proving it a rare model

There is another member on here named Shaker who has a diablo red xt which is designed the same as the RG but aswell as mine being an xt mine is a Black which causes even more curiosity

Thanks for reading and i hope someone can share some knowledge on my model which is Peugeot 206 Black as i know about the xt now

Considering they were £12495 new, and only for a few months (July to September) in 2002 - it is rather a lot!

So your car is basically a black XT. It's an old marketing ploy of dealers to create a 'special' or 'limited' edition version of a model that isn't selling to well by jazzing them up a bit & calling them something diffrent. It looks like yours was one of these 'limited editions' between June & September to get rid of old stock before the new reg come out in September. It's a lovely looking car by the way, but unfortunately it's not worth anything extra nowadays.
