In the end I wired mine to the Ashtray light, as this only comes on with the sidelights and then added a switch, as I doubt Mr. Policeman will be happy if he saw them on whilst driving.
why? because they're so bright?
i thought you're allowed them aslong as you can't see the bulbs and glow isnt too bright or something
i've no idea what i'm talking about before someone jumps at my throat, thats why im asking
PART II Regulation 11
(2) No vehicle shall be fitted with a lamp which is capable of showing any light to the rear, other than a red light, except–
(d)light to illuminate the interior of a vehicle
PART III Regulation 27
Restrictions on the use of lamps other than those to which regulation 24 refers
No person shall use, or cause or permit to be used, on a road any vehicle on which any lamp, hazard warning signal device or warning beacon of a type specified in an item in column 2 of the Table below is used in a manner specified in that item in column 3.
11 Any other lamp Used so as to cause undue dazzle or discomfort to other persons using the road.
Hope this helps. It's all open to interpretation but from my point of view as long as it's not too bright or makes driving dangerous, you can have whatever you want lit up inside the car (execpt a joint before some smart a**e thinks of it)
