Author: mjsroofing, Location: south walesPosted: Fri Dec 17, 2010 4:29 am ---- these engine bullet proof, head gasket leak oil from the cambelt side but thats about it, clutch should do around 120k, thrust bearing are comman though, , clutch is only £80 though, light service every 5k ( just oil and filter) hoover your air filter, full service every 10k, plugs, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter. the engine should exceed 150k this way.
if you were local i'd do it for you cheap

It's now completed 134K miles and, (touch wood), is running very well with no issues.
As long as you like the car and can afford it, have ALL the known faults rectified. Better the devil you know and all that .......

The expected service bill with new clutch, dodgy overheating problem fix and wishbones was probably going to be 2/3s value of the car.
It was more economic to buy a 2yr old car and only have to pay for the service items.
