Not all 206's actually have these fitted.
Give us some details.
Year of 206?
Engine size?
ABS fitted? Yes or No?

its 1999 s reg 1.4 ls. don't thing no abs

One bolt holds it in & there's one electrical connector plug on it.
Are you 100% sure its the speed sensor is faulty?

iv changed the clocks n that aint done it so thats all i can think it is. cud it be anythink else?

Its could be a wiring fault, It could also be no drive to the speed sensor.

Nope, checked the fuse & bulbs?
If they check out ok then the white switch screwed in to the gearbox is for reverse light.
Unplug the switch, short the 2 pins in the connector out on the wiring loom, turn the ignition on, if the reverse lights now work you need to replace the switch.
