#1: Extremely Slow Acceleration Up to 60MPH Author: SteDuval1985, Location: LancashirePosted: Wed Dec 29, 2010 1:54 pm ---- My 206 is a diesel and has been accelerating extremely slowly on & off for the past 10 days or so. With my foot to the floor, I'll get up to about 15mph in 1st gear and this takes about 5-10 seconds. 2nd gear gets to me about 20mph after another 5 -10 seconds. Once I'm over 20mph the slowness is tolerable in a 30mph zone and can reach 30 in 3rd with less trouble but in 20mph zones or setting off from traffic lights I'm having a nightmare holding up other drivers. If I'm joining the motorway it takes ages to get up to 60.
This slow acceleration happens after not having driven the car for around 12 hours. During the day if I have to make several trips, by around the 3rd or 4th time the car is switched on, it runs as normal.
Any ideas as to what's wrong here?
