#1: big rattle coming from engine on 2.0 hdi Author: hdipower, Location: LincolnPosted: Wed Dec 29, 2010 7:31 pm ---- hello there, i hadnt driven the car for about 3 weeks and started it in the cold weather, started first time but there is a rattle that im sure wasnt there before. its horrible, does it even on idle and if you rev past 3 thousand rpm it is very loud and if you go to 4 it feels like the french bolts are going to pop our everywhare!
sounds like a piece of metal flapping about or something. would it be useful to post a video on youtube of it?
also the day i bought the car in september i paid 50 pounds to get the a/c regassed and it worked ice cold for a month or so, i then left the car for about 3 weeks and it just stopped working and when the a.c button was pressed you could hear a hissing noise but no cold air.
could the two problems be connected?
no loss of power or anything just sounds deadly. any help or commments would be very appreciated. thanks
#2: Re: big rattle coming from engine on 2.0 hdi Author: Contax, Location: BriggPosted: Wed Dec 29, 2010 8:51 pm ---- My air con stopped working as gas was low and a valve stops pump pulley from engaging to protect it I was told if it ran on low gas pump could fail and if not used it could fail due to seals no being lubricated, had ir recharged at Peugeot dealer £50 over a year ago and still working, I need it to demist screen it's that bad. Just wondered if your pump has that protection on pulley or pump making the noise.
