what does other cars have to do with it? end of the day the petrols are faster so when it comes to speed get a petrol, economy diesel, thats how it is thats the point i was making, you can get a faster cars for same cash granted but i was on about 206s and if you want the quickest 206 you dont buy a diesel,

I believe there are very few people without a super/turbo charger that have broken the 200bhp mark even with cams induction mapping etc etc so to be honest it is a lot more possible to tune a diesel up to 200bhp then a gti180.

180s have roughly 170 so your saying its cheaper and easier to get 200 form a 90bhp engine.........

The 1.9d only one with no turbo and def not the fastest one

only asking so maybe some one could answer this guys question,
i've drove a couple, my mate had a nice blue one with all nice sporty seats etc and it was pretty quick and a lot faster than another one same year that looked standard and both i believe hadn't been played with at all. so do they do a faster model of the 2.o hdi ?????/
oh and i think the op was asking or looking for a fast diesel for the best of both worlds not the fastest car in the 206 range.
