#1: 206 Knocking with new wheels? Author: Kermit21, Location: NottinghamPosted: Sat Jan 01, 2011 1:47 pm ---- I have recently fitted some 15", 4 stud multi fit alloy wheels to my pug.
they have large tyres on (2") making the total wheel 17".
I managed to get the wheels to fit my car, eventually.
However, my brakes don't feel as good as before,
and there is a clonking, or knocking noise coming from the front??
Thanks

Are the centre bore holes to large for Pug fitment?
#3: Re: 206 Knocking with new wheels? Author: Kermit21, Location: NottinghamPosted: Sat Jan 01, 2011 1:52 pm ---- I bought some plastic "hubcentric" spacers to make sure that the wheel all fits correctly.
However, i'm just using the standard wheel nuts but was told as long as i got 6 turns of thread they'd be fine?

Do the wheels take a flat seat OR taper wheel bolt?
#5: Re: 206 Knocking with new wheels? Author: Kermit21, Location: NottinghamPosted: Sat Jan 01, 2011 1:57 pm ---- When i asked about this, i was told that i should "probably" use a taper.
Recon this could be my problem?

You need alloy wheel bolts with the correct type seat for the wheels you have fitted.
They will either be tapered OR they will have a flat washer.
Using the wrong bolts in worse cases = loosing a wheel as your driving along which isnt a good thing

so hopefully, using the "correct" bolts, should stop my knocking??
