#1: HELP... COOLANT MYSTERY PROBLEM! Author: luvpug, Location: England PostPosted: Sun Jan 02, 2011 1:07 pm

Hi all..
I've got a sloshing water sound coming from my heater matrix when I rev or accelerate...

It all started last month after I found water in passanger footwell, i ignored the sloshing water sound from the matrix (foolish!) then my headgasket went! No doubt the leak from the matrix allowed air into the coolant and blew the gasket! Simple and makes sense.

SO, I then had the new matrix and for a few days all was well. BUT the sloshing sound has returned!! Taken it back to Peugeot twice and they cant understand why there is that sloshing water sound!
No airlock in there
No drop in coolant level
No water leaks
No overheating issues
...its a mystery! Shocked

It just makes a hell of a water sound (like I got a fountain in my glovebox)
when I rev and accelerate from just 2,000 rpm and it SURE AINT NORMAL!

SO... can anyone please out-do a Peugeot technician and explain whats wrong here...????

did you changed your thermostate with all the things you have done??,if you didn't there is a chance it's a faulty one,i mean it don't close 100%,and don't open 100%,so it's 50-50,which make the coolant cycle not well..

OR

your water Pump is weak, and on it's way to say "bye bye",which also make the coolant cycle not effective, and also may cause a head gasket again.

OR

you radiator is full of dirt which make the water cycle a bad one.

So the three cases all linked to each other,so check them all,and you will solve the mystery,Good Luck.
