#1: anti roll bar drop links Author: doughboy5, Location: devon(weekends) nr cambridge(in the week)Posted: Sat Jan 08, 2011 9:23 am ---- hey have got new ones of these to put on my gti as someone on here the other day said that was what the knocking would be how easy it to change them over? is it just wheel off unbolt old and put on new do i need to grease them or anything or it there anything else that i need to do

I can't for the life of me undo the nut holding it onto the anti roll bar, if i was to cut the drop link off, surely i still wouldn't be able to undo this nut?
Any prompt help would be amazing, before i go and hire a grinder..

It is not un-common to have them rusted on.

Or use molegrips to hold the ball joint/bolt, while you undo the nut.

Well for some reason mine weren't torx, and I didn't have the right attachment to get the right thing in.
That's exactly what I plan to do tomorrow, 7am rise and shine.

Here's a tip for you when you jack one side up made sure the opposide side is also same height otherwise the whole process of removing and fitting of them will be more difficult as the car will apply weight to the links

Well my drive is flat, and it's sat on axle stands both sides so the front of the car is evenly distributed.

After that though it was all ok!
I still have the odd knock sound, so im wondering if I need to do the track rod ends too.
Put my coilovers on while I was at the drop links too!

Most after market ones dont come like this only the originals
