#1: Thermostat Broke Big Problem Help!! Author: Danny., Location: PeterboroughPosted: Sun Jan 09, 2011 5:52 am ---- Ok well after messing about so much and flushing the rad lots and lots we have discovered that the pver heating of my engine could be the fact that teh thermostat is broke.. and parts that have broken off may have gone into the engine and blocking the water getting through...
Soo can someone tell me what this is.... Ive circled it and is it easy to get off?

Post a picture up of the broken one, but I think your problem is else where. Last edited by E5GDM on Sun Jan 09, 2011 6:31 am; edited 1 time in total

Water pump is driven by the timing belt.
That's on the opposite end of the engine

My dad thinks someoen may have put radweld into the system to try and fix a leak with teh heater matrix and when it blocked up and was pver heating they cut the thermostat so it didnt overheat.
