#3: Re: 206 failed mot today :( emissions Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Mon Jan 10, 2011 12:24 pm ---- Service it properly, put some premium fuel in and rag it down the country lanes
Infact just ragging it down the lanes might be enough.
#4: Re: 206 failed mot today :( emissions Author: charlie-52, Location: telfordPosted: Mon Jan 10, 2011 12:27 pm ---- it has full service history emm was seviced in april last year so might be worth trying
#5: Re: 206 failed mot today :( emissions Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Mon Jan 10, 2011 12:30 pm ---- Should be serviced every 10/12k, and ideally a oil and oil filter change every 5k.
When you do the next service, do everything.oil filter, air filter, oil, fuel filter, spark plugs, pollen filter, maybe even gearbox oil and coolant as well
#6: Re: 206 failed mot today :( emissions Author: charlie-52, Location: telfordPosted: Mon Jan 10, 2011 12:33 pm ---- okay looks like im taking a trip to my local car parts giving it a service tho wouldnt that bring my emisions down rather than higher as lookng at the sheet it failed becuase it was too low
#7: Re: 206 failed mot today :( emissions Author: Andy180+, Location: doncaster south yorkshirePosted: Mon Jan 10, 2011 12:56 pm ---- the lambda is the amount of air in the exhaust system, possible you may have a small leak somewhere on a joint. does the print off they gave you say what the oil temp was at time of test??? has to be minimum of 80c
min limit 60
max ------
actual value 63
pass/fail pass
#9: Re: 206 failed mot today :( emissions Author: Andy180+, Location: doncaster south yorkshirePosted: Mon Jan 10, 2011 1:28 pm ---- ok so at least you know the cat would have been upto temp. would have failed on co aswell otherwise anyway. sounds as though it could be either down to a partially blocked air filter or maybe even the lambda sensor on the exhaust . how old and what engine ?? miles???
