A few work in progress pictures of the smooth centre caps...I'm currently working on the 2nd ones. I will be getting the other 2 to this point aswell and then I'll do all of them at the same time i.e. adding no nails in the hole that was created and also applying filer so they are smooth.

Firstly, take a nimrod centre cap and as close as to the the backing of the cap place a hacksaw blade and cut away the lion to leave you with a whole in the shape of the lion.

Then take the lion that has just be cut of an apply araldite to it's face and apply it in the to cover the hole on the back.

In this one I've got two holes where the feet snapped off as I was cutting so I'm going to fill does with little bits of plastic and get to work on them.

I'm going fill the whole with no-nails as it set hard and is able to be rubbed down and will not crack etc. (Will get pics of this stage)

Once thats done I will apply a thin layer of filler and once try I will smooth down flat. (will get pics of this stage)

After that it's just a matter of cleaning them up, 2 coats plastic filer primering, 2 coats grey primer, 3-4 coats of gloss black and 3-4 coats of clear laquer.

All in all this should take me a 2-3 days to do depending on what weathers like. Should hopefully be done at the latest Sunday after work.

Let me know what you think Smile

I have alot of time free now as I've finished at uni till October Very Happy So I'm trying to spend as much time doing stuff towards this to get it closer to it being ready and finished.

I'm trying to get these done now as I don't have to panic about doing them once the cars back home and I wanna get it put back together etc.

Its keeping me busy and out of trouble aswell Smile But I'm trying my hardest for it to get to FCS.

But of an update.

Got the 3rd one cut up

Also once that one was cut I managed to get them both glue up etc and applied filler to them (please note that it really isn't as much as it looks in the pic it's only cause I applied it with my fingers roughly that it looks like there is)

Just gunna wait for them to dry and while that happens I'm gunna crack on with the fourth and get it to the same stage. That way while that drys I can rub the other two down so they are flat smooth and level so they are ready for paint.

2 more centre caps have been finished and ready to spray up

Also I've found someone who can design and make the gel centres.

I'm having 2 variations designed before I make a final decision on what I want.

The first variation is;
- Gloss Black Background
- Silver SW text and Red GT text (text in the same font as the badges)

The second variation is;
- Gloss Black background
- Hot Pink SW & GT Text (text in the same font as the badges)

Also from the same chap I'm finding out if I can get hold of some lip came for the Nimrods in Hot Pink to match the centres (Second Variation) with enough to suit a 17" wheels and 20mm wide so I can have it covering the entire lip so that it still shows the pink once the tyres are stretched.

Which variation would people go for...I'm kind swaying towards the second one purely because of this;

Gel Centres and Lip Tape has been ordered Very Happy I've gone with Gloss Black Centre with the SWGT in the same font as the badges (provided the chap whose designing and making them the pics) and also in Hot Pink like the Porka D90 wheels.

I've also gone with the same colour for the lip tape and have ordered them in 20mm strips as I want to wrap the lip right the way around as I don't want any black showing once the tyres have been stretched to them.

I will get pics on here of the designs once the guys done them Smile
