#244: Re: Uz's SWGT No.1 of 1...updates =] Author: Uz, Location: No Man's LandPosted: Sun Apr 18, 2010 12:32 pm ---- Not really much of an update...just been cleaning the car of all the moss that grown on it from it being stood around. I will be giving it a good clean before it goes off to the bodyshop. I've been taking all the seals off and cleaning them so there's no dirt etc.
I've also ordered some screen removal tools to remove the screen from the GT shell so I can use it on this car Saves me £100 on buying a new one.
I've taken the idea from Jamie W (hope he doesn't mind) to trim the rear boot strip in black leatherette.
Also bought a Cupra R Splitter off a mate who had one bought from his own Ibiza but didnt wanna fit it as he was afraid of it being ripped off lol.
Found the spare ezr grille I had and going to use that;
Also I've got the mudflaps for the front...just need to order some styled rears to match. These will be painted to match the car.
Got my Aero Wipers ordered up with the washer jets built in and also got a little surprise for a few if I can get hold of what I need from a fellow Peugeot automobile Last edited by Uz on Sun Apr 25, 2010 7:56 am; edited 1 time in total

I'm going to be putting the 205 GTi wheels that are currently on my XSi onto here and use them during the winters etc with the 20mm spacers. The RS's are coming off and going back onto my XSi after a refurb (in Anthracite) with 15mm or 20mm spacers.
#247: Re: Uz's SWGT No.1 of 1...updates =] Author: Uz, Location: No Man's LandPosted: Fri Apr 23, 2010 12:44 pm ---- Splitter sold to a mate...I can put that money into my boot fill fund which shouldn't be too long now
I'll order another ones up unless my bodyshop guy can have one delivered to him while the cars at the bodyshop. May even buy a laguna one as they seem to look nicer and sit flush with the bumper.
Also put my name down on a special order set of wheels Just need another 13 people to jump on this list

Thank mate
Unfortunately car will not be at FCS as the guy can't get the car into bodyshop in time :'( I've rang around other places and they can't do it either due to other people having cars booked in for work before show season
But this now gives me plenty of time to complete it for stuff like Trax or any of the other shows where 206info will be
Bit of an update...
I need to do the centre caps but have been thinking today and have come up with an idea. Basically what I want to do is completely smooth out the centre caps so there isn't a lion there anymore and have a gel centre placed over it.
I think I may have already said about doing this with the RS wheels but what I'm looking at doing is;
gloss black gel centres (sized for nimrod centres) with SW in silver & GT in red, side by side centrally placed, in the same text as the badges that I've got for the car. It would be different but would like to know what other people think to this idea before I go ahead and do it.
The Nimrods are definately staying with me as I'm going to keep them for winter wheels, so going to jazz them up abit

This is coming on well, i'm glad you're continuing with this project UZ, you've worked to hard on this so far to throw all your ideas away.

Thanks mate Yeh I'm glad I've been able to continue with it Just a shame that it won't be at FCS which is the main reason I was doing it. But atleast when it's at a show it won't be half done.
I've just done this...
The Nimrod Badges
This is what one of them look like after 2 hours of p**sing around with it lol (still got some work to do on it)
and how it looks in the Nimrod...
I did this buy cutting the lion out and aralditin' it to the back so I had a surface to apply the no nail adhesive (when I cut the lion away a hole was made). Once I had let the no nails to dry I rubbed it down so it was a smooth flat surface and then skimmed it with filler.
I've still got the other 3 to do so I will get pics to show what I did.
#252: Re: Uz's SWGT No.1 of 1...updates =] Author: Brian, Location: VVT Land, FifePosted: Tue Apr 27, 2010 2:47 pm ---- Ah right i see, with all that work to do I was wondering if you were going to be getting it done. You should try and bring it along if you can though My goodwood has certain things that aren't perfect on it either (wheels, glovebox issue and i'll never be able to get the side mouldings looking spot on) but all in all she won't be too bad.

Well it would have been there as long as the bodywork was finished, it was sitting on it's a**e, interior complete and wheels sorted but by the looks of things the bodywork won't be finished till after FCS. But I've still got 6 weeks before FCS and the guy only needs a week and a half to get everything done on the car and back to me so I can get it all back together.
The audio side of things will still not be done till August or once I've sold the XSi as I need the money from that to put into this.
It would have been nice to have these wheels I want but I have to wait untill there's enough to do 14 sets so the car would have been on the nimrods.
Everything I can do to the car except fit the coilovers is now done. I'm just doing little bits and bobs like new ideas like these centre caps. I still need to order a few things such as the Bootfill which I'll order once I now it's going in as I don't want it getting damaged before hand.
We'll just have to see how things go now...fingers crossed

That's not a bad idea...just a shame that once the car's suspension setup it won't even get close to getting onto a trailer or flatbed lol
Better pic of the centre cap...gunna try and get the other 3 done tomorrow and get them all sprayed up in gloss black (untill I get the final SWGT badge designs done for gel centres).
