GTI's and RG's have only ever had crystal ('double optic') headlamps

If you are planning to keep it I would HPI it tbh (but not a £3 HPI check!).
HPI themselves or RAC HPI will show outstanding finance and change of owners/colour/engine/numberplates etc
But for £750 it appears to be a bargain!

Because it has tinted windows.

The GTi badge is the wrong one (looks like halfords or ebay one) and in wrong place it you compare to my GTi, Red is a rare as a**e colour and the sunroof.... thought all GTis had Climate control. Why the sunroof then? I think it's a conversion that has been re-registered with DVLA as a GTi.
I would do a FULL HPI check

If it says GTI on the V5c (when HPI'ed) it is a GTI. End of.

Sunroof is a rare option.

yeah i had to hold back the lafter when he told me,
then he tried to tell me only some gti's have the fog lights in the front,
again i was stood looking at hannah's car when he said this and thought he was mad

Then, if you go to pick it up, make sure you check all the VIN plates against your printed off carcheck/HPI and documents.
Sometimes there's no smoke without fire..

the fuel is coming from the top of the pump because is it over full so i got a free tank of fuel too
i think it is only leaking from there because he has been playing around there trying to get the fuel censor to work again
also the seat won't hight adjust

That's what I paid for my moonstone GTi on a 99T - needed a couple of bits but apart from the clutch thrust bearing dying, it's been great so far.

It might not have been in a collision.. Look at the other signs...
It's clearly been modified, twin exhausts on bumper, GTI badge, tints, 16" nimrods (possibly) etc etc
If one of the previous owners modified the rear bumper, maybe they had some badboy silly looking front bumper, and wanted to remove it for easier sale but only had a non sport bumper available. You just don't know.
Should be fine mate for the price, you'll know once you're zipping around inside it

I've used them a few times, did back then (18 months or so ago).
Reason why I rate them is they actually show whether the car has ever been recorded as stolen - I bought a 306 cabriolet and did a check on top of the one that the auction house was did with HPi and the check showed it was still outstanding stolen... long story short, the insurers who paid out on it (albeit a few years prev) then stuck a cat c marker on it.

i have had it HPI checked and it is all good and squeaky clean,
i got the it checked out and it has had a slight bump on the off side but nothing major as there is nothing bent or cracked been replaced and welded etc so it looks like it was just a cosmetic bump,
me and my mate have been flying round in it tonight, it is now called the youth mobile as it makes us feel like we are 18 again lol,
only bad thing so far is that i snapped the boot trim when i lifted up the boot last night

2 clips & 2 nuts inside the boot are all that hold them on, yank the plastic tailgate trim of from inside to get at the 2 nuts securing the strip.
