#5: Re: price of full respray? Author: Matt, Posted: Tue Jan 18, 2011 3:40 pm ---- id say a rough price for a decent job would be about £1100 for a colour change and about £800 for same colour.

#7: Re: price of full respray? Author: chunkielad, Location: LeighPosted: Tue Jan 18, 2011 4:07 pm ---- it really matters on how much your car needs in prep work, how good the place is doing the work....
you can pay over £2k for the most amazing job out there but there really is no need. Someone (who isn't a mate) doing it for £500 is likely to be shocking. Anywhere between £800 and £1200, you are likely to get a decent job. Make sure you see work they have done before commiting though.

I'm guessing standard factory colours are cheaper than non factory colours, that or if it is repsprayed the same colour they can get away with taking it back to the existing basecoat rather than re-primer

Its because colour change= spraying inside the bootlid, boot shut, inside the doors, door shuts, under the bonnet ect.
Where as same colour, would just need rubbing down and flashing over

vinyl isn't a replacement for paint. Wrapping is a skilled job too so to have it done properly would cost similar to painting the vehicle. I taught vehicle wrapping for KPMF who invented the product so I am all for it in the right place but it is a short term change, to change colour means you won't be doing the door shuts, engine bay, boot internals etc... It's just not an alternative to a paint colour change.
Great for a roof or bonnet change you can easily put back for selling though Last edited by chunkielad on Tue Jan 18, 2011 5:14 pm; edited 1 time in total
