...absolutely hate their 206?? Ive had my GTI for about 2 years now and the last few months i have just grown to detest it. No end of repairs and other niggly little problems since i bought it, build quality is absolutely awful (number plate falling off was the latest thing!) and it handles like a tub of sh*t on wheels!
Im now at the stage where its basically worth sod all so there's no point selling it as i will only be able to afford another absolute shed afterwards so im just going to run it into the ground, sickens me that im going to be stuck with it for another year and a half until i can afford something else.

Anyone who is thinking of buying a 206, my advice is dont bother!

Flame off.

Mine was getting slowly more unreliable.

I was playing chicken with 'what noises was going to end up in the biggest repair bill'. I buckled and bought japanese! Rolling On The Floor Laughing

I've had my 206 since 2006 and apart from a dodgy temperature sensor and radiator fan, it hasn't skipped a beat.

That being said, people have crashed into it. Scum have broken into it. I no longer love it how I used to, and haven't even bothered to get it repaired, as in all honesty, I don't care about it anymore. I'm selling it in November/December 2011 to finance my travelling anyway.

A great car, but i'm getting a little too old for it now.

This is pretty much how i feel about mine, need some work done on it at the moment and its due a service aswell but i just dont give a cr4p anymore. Going to change the spark plugs, fuel filter and oil myself at some point but not bothering getting it serviced properly.

The phrase 'good money after bad' springs to mind.

I pretty much hate my car at the moment, it has cost me £2000 in repairs in the last 3 months so im trading it in this week hopefully, the next owner will get a good car to be fair with the stuff that has been replaced but as a few have said i just dont care about it and cant be bothered with it anymore.

Feeling the same way atm. Mine's just been one thing after another, after another, after another, after another... you get the point.
Sometimes I wonder if I do this
Wall Bang
and then look at the car through the eyes of someone extremely concussed, if it will shed some light on whether it's worth persevering with it or breaking/selling!!

(Although I'd probably only go and buy another 206, just a newer one!!)

I love my 206 ok i would like something new bt thts because ive owned a 206 for 3 years now.

I had me first one for 2 years and not a fing went rng with it. The only bit if money i spent on it was for a cambelt and a new exhaust bt thts wear and tear so cant be helped, ive owned this one a year at the start of feb and the only fing tht has gone wrong was a cable rubbed through onto another and made the car think there was an oil pressure fault when there werent (cost £48 for pug to fix it and tht included pluging it in) so they seem quite reliable to me Smile

i love my 206 Smile costs me each time it goes to the garage £160 ... (seems to be the standard rate) im currenty saving up my next £160 as the strut bearings have ceased... so total £480 in a year and a bit for garage bills ....

i do love to drive it though... its fun so that kinda makes up for it...

Any car can be a crappy car if you don't look after it,and any car can be a very good and reliable car if you take care of it,and do the Maintenance constantly :D,so I disagree with you about the 206 ;),it's a great car Very Happy

Disagree with this statement im afraid, up until now ive done all necessary maintanence, servicing, and checks and it doesnt make a blind bit of difference. You cant polish a turd!
