How mnuch would a gearbox cost for a HDi 2.0 206?

no idea. but they are a t**t to get in and out if youre going to attempt it..

aaah fair enough, its a big hefty thing so im guessing between 60-100 quid from a scrappy..? have a look on ebay see what comes up Smile

id get the clutch done as well while youre there, may as well as clutch kits are about £70 new??

Well its a car of her eim intrested in and the owner said teh clutch has just been done. but now it crunches in 4th gear

i know my car is only a 1.4 8v, but my gearbo cost me £130 from a breakers with a year warranty. cost me a further £100 to have it fitted.

EDIT: you dont really need to do the clutch at the same time, i didnt.

if it aint broke, dont fix it Wink

Yes but if you drive 5 miles down the road and it does go, you then have to take the box back off and do what you should have done in the first place.

yeaa expensive... Ive had quotes of 300-700 for a gearbox to be fit..

tbh if you can afford it get one from somewhere like mr clutch as the warranty is much longer i think. think a scrappy/breaker will only give you 3 months compared to i think 1/2 years at mr clutch.
