#1: P0204 - injector number 4 Author: enricosalad, Location: OxfordPosted: Fri Jan 21, 2011 5:49 am ---- I have the fault code P0204 - injector circuit malfunction, cylinder number 4. A common problem if I understand correctly due to water dripping on it from the windscreen washer jet.
Symptoms - at start-up the engine is firing on three cylinders (presumably number 4 is not working!), but after a mile or so of driving it starts to fire smoothly on all four again. IT ONLY MISFIRES WHEN STARTING UP.
So presumably the injector is not failed, at least not failed enough to not work all the time. Question is, what is the problem, and solution? New injector? Injector seal? Coil pack? Just let it keep doing it?
I have put injector cleaner through the tank, and squirted some stuff through the air intake, and sprayed WD40 all over the place 9in case it was moisture causing the problem), but no joy yet.
Wondered if this sounded familiar to anyone before I try to replace the injector (and probably break it totally knowing how good I am mechanically)
