I asked him to leave the arch off so I could see what he is doing to make it mint, and he's said it can make the arch look clean but if I want mint he will have to book it in to a body shop.

I'm not completely unreasonable, but I did say basically I don't want to make things awkward between us as he is a mate, but you know how we all are with our cars if something goes wrong it's the end of the world, and that if he didn't do it I would only have to do it myself, so it looks like he will be having it done professionally now.

So providing it happens, I'll be happy again.

If I'm not happy, it will go as one cba with taking stuff off, hence my poor Saxo was sold as it was loosing me about a grand in parts, had I have stripped them off, made no odds to the overall price I got lol

Thanks mate,

I won't be paying for it. If I needed money for repairs I'd just pay for them, and if I needed the money I'd sell something that's worth selling, 40 quid posted was a bargain, I wouldn't even waste my time selling that lol.

Thanks for the offer though.

Lol fair play mate,

Ok, the last update of this thread and I'll shut up and disapear back down the hole I came from.

The good news is... The person who did this paint job will be taking it in on saturday.

For anyone who follows the little progress I make with this car will know that it's had an entire side respray on the drivers side due to a crap paint job from when a lady hit the wheel arch and ripped it off, the original company f****d up the job and it looked s**te so I got that agree'd at my choice of garage.

So it looks like, my plans are back on and I'll be happy again!

Shutting up now!

Mate that sucks big time! I feel bad for you as im the same with my car, and the smallest little imperfections annoy me so much!
Glad its hopefully being sorted though and you'll love it again once you've got all your bits and bobs finished too!
They're worth so little now i think im just going to keep it, it puts a smile on my face when i drive it and thats what matters right? Haha.

Thanks mate, yeah I am gutted at least I know it's going to someone who does a professional job.

I wish I wasn't so picky though sometimes. Why does my brain think everything has to be perfect. Would be soo much easier if I didn't give a s**t.

If it comes back and I'm happy, I'll keep it. You're right on the price I think I may end up tracking it though I really want a track car and this could be perfect.

And yes totally right, I actually hate to admit how much I love that car, it's like my old one, got under my skin a love hate relationship. This and my vts together and I'd be very happy with my 'rides' lol!

Shame they are going so cheap now, my brothers agean with the polished inlet went £1450 and that only had 74k on the clock. I'm definitely keeping mine until it's either written off or somethings goes on it which is too expensive for me to fix.

Nevr been to trax, bit far for me tbh

Exactly yeah hopefully it all goes smoothly for you mate! They did an awesome job before by the looks of things so im sure it will be fine Smile
I know what you mean the majority of people will never even notice the little issues here and there with my car but i know they're there and it gets to me so much! That isnt normal is it haha.
Yeah would potentially be a really good track car if you could lose some of the weight (mainly from the interior i expect!)
Love hate relationship is exactly the way to describe it haha, this and my vts get to me in exactly the same way, and sometimes i wish i'd kept that little saxo, not many clean ones around these days and it was getting to a nice spec.

@ Matt

Yeah they really are too cheap now. Mines just ticked over 60k looks like a long term project on the side it will end up.

I have been messing on photoshop and I have my plans all set out, so unless I'm laid off I will be pursuing them Smile

It's going to look quite menacing if all goes to plan!

@Dan

Thanks mate, I am discussing it with the painter later today so I will hopefully know exactly what is going down.

I always find things, even the tiniest thing can be blown right out of proportion when I have time to think, I try to keep myself busy on either making good or find something else to take my mind off it lol! I drive my girlfriend mad.

Yeah the front seats are heavy for what they are, Ideally I'd like to get shot of them they don't age well either. The alacantara bobbles, there is only sooo much you can shave off using a bobble off before surely you're down to the foam lol!

Definitely a love hate relationship, I actually never had that with my VTS, I just loved it which is strange for me, If there is something to moan about, I'll find it.

And I agree, you should have kept yours, and I wish I'd never sold mine, luckily a professional detailer now owns mine and it's got a donor supercharged lump going in! That will be awesome! I'd go FCS just to see my old car tbh if there was a chance it would be there, and I find FCS boring lol!
