72K miles is getting very near timing belt replacement if its a TU petrol lump

Get the timing belt replaced at the next service for piece of mind

Timing belt is dead cheap for that engine
1 hours labour plus the cost of the belt, there that simple to do on a 1.1
Its every 80K miles OR 5 years whichever comes 1st
A Peugeot main dealer can change a 8 valve TU timing belt on a 206 in under 45 minutes

#23: Re: water in oil Author: 206racer, Location: derbyshirePosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 3:48 am ---- Lost a bit of coolant and still getting mayo colour under filler cap.Mate did a test where you suck coolant out into a tube filled with blue liquid and if the liquid changed to orange there is a leak on head gasket.Result was the liquid stayed the same colour.Are these tests reliable?Also the car is going to be serviced and have the timing belt and water pump done next week should i wait until i know for sure the head gasket is not leaking.Any advice.?
