Right, I'm screwed!

Exhaust started blowing this morning and having popped in to those lovely lads at Kwik Fit it seems I need a whole new exhaust.

£404 fitted Crying or Very sad

Anyone know where I can get one on the cheap (2nd hand, whatever). It appears that for this model of car it comes as a complete part.

Please, please, please help me!!!

Try a DECENT exhaust place Wink

Kwik fit are expensive as they work on a bonus scheme Wink

Local motor factor, Euro car parts or GSF will sell you the parts.

No, definitely not. I got under to have a check and its broken off just before the back box and there is a hole in the bit in the middle of the car that the pipe runs from to the back box.

All completely unweldable due to rust Sad

then you just need a new centre pipe unless it snapped on the backbox too. the cat and front pipe should be fine. even if you replace the front pipe as well the cat will not need replacing until it fails the mot.

Hi Rob,

Using my limited powers of explanation, there is a box at the rear that sticks out the back of the car (A), A pipe that runs from it down the centre of the car (B) and a box towards the front of the car that the pipe connects to (C).

From the front of the system backwards..... there is a hole in C, C connects to B fine but B is completely detached from A at the point where the two meet.

A = front pipe
B = centre pipe
C = Backbox

Before the front pipe is the CAT; this is pretty expensive but proberbly will not need replacing. You are saying the backbox has come off the rear end of the centre pipe. It is proberbly down to the clamp rusting away rather than the hole pipe breaking off.

So in short you need a front pipe and backbox

Posibly a centre pipe and proberbly not a CAT.

Unless the centre pipe has recently been done you are proberbly better of replacing all of it AFTER the CAT. The CAT is by far the most expensive part of the lot so make sure that is not replaced if it doesn't need to be. I suggest buying the parts and taking it to a good garage to have them fitted.

No, definitely not. I got under to have a check and its broken off just before the back box and there is a hole in the bit in the middle of the car that the pipe runs from to the back box.

Thanks Rob, that helps no end!!!

Unfortunately it has also confirmed that it is the Cat that has a hole in it so its time to hit the phone and find someone local to fit one!!

Thanks for your help guys.

A genuine pug one would probably be over £200

Try a local motor factors Smile

You went to Kwik Fit? First mistake, did anyone see that WatchDog when Kwik Fit were overcharging people and quoting for work that didn't need doing. For £400 you could have had a stainless steel exhaust system and it would have looked/sounded loads better
