#1: Anyone fitted van panels to a non van 206? Author: JJ0063, Location: NorfolkPosted: Mon Jan 24, 2011 2:16 pm ---- Hi all
Got myself some van panels for the 206, painted them up & tonight tried to fit them.. the holes dont line up with the glass brackets?
Anyone fitted them before? How did you go about it? As the van brackets are welded in.
I assumed they would bolt onto the glass brackets & just be like "opening" van panels! lol
Cheers

You need the brackets from a van if your fitting the panels. Although I was sure they are only bolted on.
#3: Re: Anyone fitted van panels to a non van 206? Author: JJ0063, Location: NorfolkPosted: Mon Jan 24, 2011 2:25 pm ---- Yeah I knew they didnt open as standard, I just thought the logical way would have the bolt holes in the same place!
Im 99% sure the van I removed them from had welded brackets in it! I know the panels were bolted and rivited in, probably knackered the brackets from having to rip the rivets out as i didnt have a cordless drill with me!
i'll have to set about making some brackets up to meet with the window brackets so they are in theory 'opening' van panels

#6: Re: Anyone fitted van panels to a non van 206? Author: JJ0063, Location: NorfolkPosted: Mon Jan 24, 2011 2:33 pm ---- I plan on keeping it internally as a car, but externally van looking as you don't see that many 'done up' vans. I just thought i'd do something different for FCS. the colour match i've got for the van panels isnt all that bad & it's a 10 min job to switch back to glass.
considering i paid £5 a side for the van panels i'm confident id get my money back in the future
i'll have a bash at fitting them & see how my other FCS plans turn out and then decide i guess!
cheers

#8: Re: Anyone fitted van panels to a non van 206? Author: sgwilson, Location: shropshirePosted: Thu Jan 27, 2011 4:04 pm ---- you could vinyl the glass so it looks like a van panel? Would have thought van panels would be a little bit to felxi to open and close
#9: Re: Anyone fitted van panels to a non van 206? Author: JJ0063, Location: NorfolkPosted: Thu Jan 27, 2011 5:04 pm ---- They seem solid tbh!
Vinyl is an idea but to get a close match to EYC is gonna be hard! Would of thought vinyl would be a generic 'silver'
Will have a bash tomorrow or sunday at getting the van panels fitted even if they are permanently shut!
