Right well I think its time to switch over to a more fuel economy car!! Seeing as I do about 3200 miles a month!! My 1.4 does about 400 miles to a tank. I need something more economical to save the pennies in my back pocket!! Would like to know peoples views on the various HDi pugs!!

Mine only gets about 35mpg around town, or 54mpg on the motorway. Gotta say I was hoping for better than that when I got it after seeing figures. Bit of a tractor too

Mine's the 2.0. And never ending problems with exhaust(3 backboxes in 2 years)/suspension/steering/rust that I hadn't noticed under the in-tact underseal, but that could happen to any 206 I suppose!
Insurance isn't that bad I don't think, I'm paying £1000 now compared to £750 on my 1.0 Micra, and the tax is low.

the road tax for the 1.4hdi is £30 a year.
however, the 2.0hdi has a nicer gearbox to drive with.

Depends on the age of the car. Mine's an X plate and I get r*ped of £212 per year for tax. Sad

my 2.0HDI 2002 is the same as my old 1.4 8v 2003 on fuel.... if i drive nice and slow then it lasts ages... as soon as my foot goes down it drinks... doing about 115mph you can actually see the fuel gauge go down! Sad lol

i get around 600miles a tank on my 2.0 hdi, had very little problems apart from wear in tear in 13months ive owned it, new anti roll bar links, new track rod end on one side think thats about it, get good 48/49/50mpg when on a run of a mix of town and motorway driving

The 2.0HDi is an awesome car, although for a 2.0 engine I would have thought it would be running a little more than 90BHP. I get about 400 miles out of a tank, but then I do 50mph everywhere

2.0 hdi bullet proof engine really will last forever and easy to remap, chip and fit intercooler, and so on to make faster if you want but 90bhp standard is nippy meant to be the easiset 206 engine to tune

dont they do a 1.6 hdi quiksilver, sure thats got 110bhp that might be cheaper on the insurance than the gti hdi

I've got a 2.0HDi SW, 52 reg, which I bought last July. Only problem I've had is a flat battery and when I went to get it replaced, the fitter said it was the original one! Starts first time, even in the -5 weather we had before Christmas.

My previous car was a 1.7TD Astra Estate and although that was a reliable car, it drove like a bus compared to the 206, and was heavier on fuel too.

I've got the 1.4 hdi and i actually love it! Not had any problems other than general ware and tear which include:
Brake shoes, drop links and temperature sensor (the exception)

Think this is actually the whole list lol i get about 38mpg at the minute mainly driving around in traffic, but when i put it on the motorway the acceleration is decent at times and probably getting about 300-350 from half a tank, a lot of people say they are ridiculously slow but this isn't strictly true if you keep it in the higher rev ranges

I have the 2.0HDi. I love it! Smile Never had any major problems and any problems (the exhaust and lower arm ball joint) have been general wear and tear. With the new turbo, panel filter and decat I think I have had it as low as 30mpg. Yet when drove sensibly and efficently, I got from Carlisle-Essex and back on a full tank which is 644 miles. Smile
