#1: Just leaked power steering fluid Author: TomMessenger, Location: Ipswich-ishPosted: Tue Jan 25, 2011 9:18 am ---- I've had continual problems with my suspension and steering since getting my 2.0 HDi, but I thought I'd fixed it after changing top mounts, lower arms, and pulling bits of nackered crankshaft pulley out of my steering belt. Sometimes (and only sometimes) now it's creaking loudly when I steer, and I can feel a light clicking in the steering wheel when it does.
Also, it sometimes goes very heavy when turning quickly and sharply (say, in 3 point turn).
I just jacked up the front and removed wheels to see if I could see anything obvious and listened when I turned the wheel, with the engine off. When I went back to have a look, there was a red puddle of power steering fluid on the drive. It's not overfilled, and the cap was on properly. Would it do that just by steering while engine is off?

There should be a green pipe comming from the power steering motor, check the nut on that isnt leaking, thats what mine leaked from, if it is get some plumers tape and undo the nut, wrap that round the thread then put it back on tight.

Maybe that has degraded if it has one.
Other than that im out of ideas for now.
