If you have a multiplexed 206, you need a COM2000 with trip function, a MFD with the compatible features and a BSI update

Nice Smile

I paid £230 for a new com2000, plus the MDF's usually sell for £40, and then the wiring may differ from your old one.
Then a BSI update, £40ish I imagine.

All adds up.

You need a com2000 with trip computer button on the end of the wiper stalk.

You may also need a BSI update.

If its already got the large screen im surprised it aint already got a trip computer fitted Confused

i took the end cap off my wiper stalk and found that the trip button is already there deep down. if you don't want to make a springy button then simply get a faulty comm2000 with auto wipers or trip, remove the end cap with spring, and swap over onto yours.
a new comm unit isn't necessary and i believe there is only one version of the comm units which has a hard plastic end so this mod isn't possible.

plug in the larger MFD and you're away.

i never needing a BSI reconfiguration to get trip info, although it is an option to activate in pp2000 and this may depend on your software version.

I don't think the dealer will update anything for the National Security Inspectorate.

The will however do a BSI update. You're better off going to them for that as other places say they can do it, but if they c**k up or have a glitch in the software then your car is dead and you have a very expensive repair bill.

For the sake of a hours labour, it's worth getting it done properly.

Fit the parts & cross your fingers, a lot work without the BSI configuration setup adjustment.

If you have a factory cd changer fitted then it will need the BSI tweaking to get the cd changer back in to operation.

As your in Sheffield, give Lee a PM as he will be a lot cheaper then any Peugeot main dealer & he is a whizz with the laptop & Peugeot Planet Wink

I just bought a 2002 206 1.4 HDI style.

Should this model have the trip computer fitted?

I can't get it to work. So it is either faulty or not fitted at all.

Can someone help please?

Cheers,

Hi all, First of all i am new to this forum and i liked it here Smile

My car is 2002 206CC 1.6 with the old viper stalk fitted in it. my question is that if i can have a trip computer just by replacing the viper stalk with the com2000 and 3 lined screen. I have a factory fitted 2 lined screen which only shows the radio channels weather, time etc...

I am living in Turkey so most of the people here even the ones that are working in the peugeot official service do not know anything about this subject. Thanks in advance.. Smile

Your 206 is non multiplexed, you CANNOT fit the trip computer to it.
