#1: Grrrr my car Author: Mrs_Howey, Location: WorthingPosted: Wed Jan 26, 2011 9:46 am ---- Soo, as many of you know my car has been making a whining noise for a while, i thought it was the power steering pump but after having it changed last night, it hasn't fixed my problem
Has anyone got any other ideas what would make it whine???
the noise increase when i accelerate and decreases when decelerating, and at 50mph it stops.
This noise is driving me mad, i need to fix it.
Ideas??

Years ago my mate managed to convince the whole 6th form (Apart from these with common sence) that his 1.3 Mazda 323 was a quad turbo

Mine made a whirring noise, sounded like a cable tie rubbing on my tires, and the noise was only there at certain revs.
Turns out it was the timing belt.

if your gearbox oil is seperate to the engine oil could just mean your running low on oil in the box
ORR could be that super charger we spoke about haha

Remove the aux belt and see if the noise goes away.
