Where do you fill up your gearbox oil on a 206 1.4 t reg, I can see a drain but no filler plug??

They're usually on the side, you have to remove the passenger arch lining IIRC.

Or there will be a breather on the top. If you know the exact amount to fill it with you can fill it through there.

make sure you use 75w/80 oil

Thanks will have a read of that, I got some zx1 to put in as well. Done a engine oil service today with some zx1 added, what a difference sounds alot smoother

Don't put any of that ZX1 additive crap in a MA gearbox Wink

The MA box is VERY picky on oil Wink

Ok a no no with the zx1, Think the correct oil in the box might help, I know the person that had it before used engine oil in it

To be fair, a few gearboxes do use engine oil Wink

That's why you should always check the handbook OR ask the manufacturer what lubricant you should use.

As long as you don't overfill the gearbox it will be fine.

i use the breather way when i have a empty box, i get 2ltrs and then put it all in.

The box isn't full with 2 litre's of oil, there is space at the top for air.

Overfill the box, it will pressurize the oil, you will ruin the seals & it will p**s oil out Laughing

That's why there is a fill / level plug on the side Wink

that is right, as long as when you refill the oil the car is level, then any excess oil should come out from the filler hole

It's in the engine compartment. I saw the oil was being filled there. it's perhaps under the air throttle valve.
